Book Return Terms & Conditions

At Bookaao.com, we strive to ensure a seamless rental experience for our customers. Below are the terms and conditions governing the return of rented books. Please read them carefully to understand your responsibilities and our policies.

Rental Period

• Your rental period begins upon delivery of the book to your provided address, as confirmed by our delivery partner.
• The rental duration (e.g., 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 1 month, or 2 months) is as selected at the time of placing the order.
• You are responsible for returning the book by the end of the rental period. The return deadline is calculated from the delivery date.
• Extensions to the rental period may be requested via our platform, subject to availability and additional charges.

Condition of Books

• Please handle books with care and return them in the same condition as received.
• Normal wear and tear (e.g., minor creases or slight discoloration due to handling) is acceptable, but significant damage (e.g., torn pages, water damage, or writing in the book) is not.
• Upon delivery, inspect the book and report any pre-existing damage to us within 24 hours via support@bookaao.com to avoid liability for such damage.
• Books returned in poor condition may incur additional charges, including repair costs or the full replacement cost of the book, as determined by the vendor.

Return Process

• Books must be returned to the vendor’s address, which will be provided in your order confirmation or can be accessed via your account dashboard.
• Use the original packaging or equivalent protective packaging to ensure the book is not damaged during transit.
• Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the renter unless otherwise specified (e.g., due to a defective product).
• Obtain a proof of postage from the courier service and retain it until the return is confirmed by the vendor.
• Once the book is received and inspected by the vendor, you will be notified of the successful completion of the return process.

Late Returns

• If a book is not returned by the end of the rental period, a late fee will be charged. The fee is calculated at ₹50 per day for up to 7 days, after which the full replacement cost of the book may be charged.
• You will be notified via email and SMS about overdue returns, with instructions to return the book promptly.
• Failure to return the book within 14 days of the rental period’s end may result in the book being considered lost, and you will be charged the replacement cost.

Quality Check at Delivery

• Upon delivery, you have the right to inspect the book for quality and condition in the presence of the delivery personnel.
• If the book’s condition does not match the quality shown in the vendor’s provided images or videos (requested via WhatsApp), you may refuse delivery and initiate a return at no cost.
• Notify us immediately via support@bookaao.com if you reject a delivery due to quality issues, providing details and evidence (e.g., photos).

Refunds and Disputes

• Refunds for rental fees will only be issued if the book is defective or significantly not as described, and the issue is reported within 24 hours of delivery.
• Disputes regarding book condition or return charges will be mediated by Bookaao.com, with decisions based on evidence provided by both the renter and vendor.
• Contact our support team at support@bookaao.com for any disputes or refund requests.

General Guidelines

• Do not lend rented books to others, as you are responsible for their condition and timely return.
• Ensure the book is returned to the correct vendor, as listed in your order details.
• Bookaao.com is not responsible for delays or losses caused by the courier service, but we will assist in resolving such issues.
• Failure to comply with these terms may result in additional charges or restrictions on future rentals.
